Tonight at 9 PM is the second episode of a new CBS show, The Unit, which combines, according to a review in The Weekly Standard, the best of Fox's 24 and ABC's Desperate Housewives. Seems that it is "jingoistic," in the eyes of a Washington Post critic. (Last night I saw my first episode of 24, a big hit on Fox; it is a 24-part season with each show covering an hour, High Noon-style. Much like Mission Impossible, except you cannot miss an episode. I will thus pass. But I plan to check out The Unit tonight. Nothing like dead terrorists to liven a TV evening.
