The Pentagon announced yesterday that 61 Gitmo detainees are either definitely (18) or likely (43) back in the terrorism business. There are about 255 detainees remaining at Gitmo, with the peak having been about 850 to 900. Of those remaining, 50 have been cleared for release and 110 are deemed too dangerous to release. So, if the Pentagon's numbers are right, of some 600 to 650 released up to 10 percent may have returned to the fight, with 2 percent confirmed to have done so. Legalism has its price.
