The Los Angeles Times reports that China's father of rocket & missile technology passed away at age 98. The LA Times obit is interesting, as the scientist was deported in 1955 on suspicion of pro-Communist sympathies. Opinion is split on whether his loyalty was legitimately in question, determination of which is a vexing, difficult exercise in which mistakes are often made. In the event, the exile vented his anger in revenge, in guiding Beijing's entry into the space age--and ICBM age too.
