The Washington Post reports that European countries are imposing tougher sanctions on Iran. Reuters reports that tensions rose between Russia & Iran due to Russia signing on for stronger UN sanctions. But Reuters reports that Russia hedged its bets Tuesday, condemning the European moves Monday to impose new sanctions outside the UN. Reuters noted that Iran fuel imposts took a nosedive" in July. And on Sunday ex-CIA chief Gen. Michael V. Hayden said that he sees a greater chance of a military strike being launched against Iran's nuclear facilities.
