Israel: Next Mideast War Starts

Thursday's terror attacks are ominous....

Coordinated Palestinian terror attacks from Egypt are an ill augury.  Barry Rubin sees a major escalation in Arab terror unfolding: (a) Egypt as a base for attacks, thus ending the Camp David pseudo-peace process; (b) al-Qaeda mounting the attack.  A Wall Street Journal piece adds detail, and ends with this apt quote from a former Israeli Ambassador to Egypt: "The peace with Egypt deceived many in Israel to believe that Egypt will stop all the acts of terrorism… It is never good to be optimistic in the Middle East.''

Jennifer Rubin sees Team Obama focusing more on Jewish housing in Jerusalem than on Palestinian terror.  But, thankfully, SecState Hillary unequivocally and strongly condemned the atrocities, without the usual "violence on both sides" or "mutual restraint" piffle.

Israel rapidly retaliated, apparently successfully.  Hamas terrorists then fired rockets into Israel, wounding two.

Bottom Line.  The new Mideast war is underway, as peace fantasies are being rudely shoved aside by facts unfolding on the ground.
