President's SOTU marks Senate budget marker....
House Speaker John Boehner noted this Sunday that today marks the 1,000th consecutive day the Senate has failed to pass a budget. ONE THOUSAND DAYS. So: WHO is being obstructionist? The entire Congress? No, as the House has passed budgets, including Paul Ryan's 2011 budget with trillions in entitlement reductions over the next decade.
Blame the SENATE, controlled for 100 percent of that period by the Democrats under Majority Leader Harry Reid, and more than one year under filibuster-proof Democratic majority. Reid's Senate even rejected President Obama's own budget 97-0 last spring, as it ignored Ryan's.
The GOP response to The One's SOTU will be delivered by the man Bill Kristol calls last night's debate winner: Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels.
Bottom Line. Care to bet that the President neglects this fact tonight? It should be the opening sentence of the Republican reply.
