Hillary accepted official responsibility for the Libyan consulate debacle. Will she succeed in ending questions about administration conduct?
Not if her 2008 statement that "The buck stops in the Oval Office," made while running against then-Sen. Obama, is applied as the standard. As Sen. Howard Baker famously asked during the 1973 Senate Watergate Committee hearings, the key questions are "What did the president know, and when did he know it?" (Or, as one wag put it back then, "What did the president know, and when did he stop knowing it....")
Bottom Line. Hillary will succeed only if the leaks from State & the intel community stop.
