America's cleaner environment imperils Greens. . . .
AEI posted poll results on American attitudes towards the environment.
1. Americans think the environment is in quite good shape, with 50 percent rating it excellent, 40 percent fair & only 9 percent poor.
2. Water pollution is top popular concern, with air pollution a close second, with global warming & climate change last.
3. The economy & national security top voter concerns, with climate issues trailing by 20 to 40 points.
4. Voters trust the Democrats more than Republicans on Green issues. Millennials care least about the environment among voter generations.
Bottom Line. Our leaders would do well to follow as to the environment the famous advice given during the Vietnam war, by Vermont Sen. George Aiken, to declare victory and go home.
